This week went by really fast.
On Thursday night my comp woke me up and told me he was feeling really sick. He was shaking a lot. So we decided to wait till the morning to go to the hospital and it turns out he has some crazy new disease from a mosquito. So we havent really been able to work a lot this week because of that but he has been getting a lot better. Ive had a lot of person study time this week and learned a lot it wasnt too bad being stuck in the house.
This week we did find an old investigator, Alex. We taught him about the atonement and it was really powerful. We taught him almost everyday this week when we were able to work. Everytime we were making another visit he told us that he wanted us to come back tomorrow. He has a lot of bad feeling about the things that he did and we taught him about the atonement and how he can be free from all the bad feelings that he has. Im pretty sure that was the biggest reason why he wanted us to come teach him so much. His face was amazing when we taught him that lesson. It was a really good lesson.
This week we should also be having 2 baptisms on Saturday. They were kind of a surprise baptism. We are going to baptize 2 kids that are 9 and 8. Their mom just got to bolivia and they didnt have permission to get baptized. So when she got here she told us that she wanted them to get baptized and so we pretty much taught them all the lessons this week too.
Also, our investigator Dayana is progressing really well. Now we are able to focus in her family. We are now able to visit with her father. Missionaries have been trying to visit with him for over a year and now he is finally listening to us. His biggest doubt was about the missionaries. He thought that we were just really weird people and that we were really young. We are going to have a lesson with him tonight, even though my comp is really sick, and we are going to explain to him the book of mormon. Dayana told us that he had a lot of doubts about the book of mormon, where it came from, and Joseph Smith. This lesson is going to be really important so I hope it goes alright.
Thats about all that happened this week,
Elder Britt
There are also a lot of people in el torno with mud ovens. I feel like this place is a few hundred years behind.
My comp in the hospital too!

This week was super good. It was really fun watching all of the general confrence. We were able to watch all of it in english. We werent able to watch it the priesthood session at all because we live 1 hour from the stake center and it started at 8 so we had to be in our house at that time. But it was really good. One of my favorite talks from the session was in the Saturday afternoon by Elder Wilfrod Anderson when he compared the gospel to music. That talk was really good and I liked it a lot.

This week was really crazy. We had a lot of crazy experiences, some spiritual and other not so much. First off, all the people in El Torno are crazy religious. We saw a lot of people this week carrying giant crosses and then a bunch of people behind them follow them. It was really weird. A lot of people were really drunk this week so it was kind of hard to have lessons.

We also found a really good investigator this week. We were contacting and we made a visit to come back in a few days and visit with all of their family. We came back and woman we talked to wasnt there but her husband was. We never even talked to him before and he just told us to come in he got 3 chairs for us and we sat down and talked. It was really weird but he is really interested in the gospel. We are going to have another lesson with him tomorrow!

But thats about all that happened this week

Mar 30th, New Comp!

This week was really weird. It was the week of transfers but my comp got his transfer monday, 3 days earlier. So I was without a comp until thursday so I went on an intercambio with the leaders of the zone. It was really good I learned a lot of things, especially how to teach better. We also found a looooot of crazy people in their zone. We had one lesson were it was just a family fighting the whole time so that was a really good lesson. But on Thursday my new comp arrived to El Torno. He is elder Zadlívar. His family is from argentina. The funny thing is, is that his sister is on the disctrict 2 which is really funny. A lot of people give him crap for it but its kinda funny. Hes a really good missionary and has 18 months in his mission.

But we have seen a lot of progress this week in el torno. We havent been able to work that much but a lot of things have happened. Our investigator, Dayana almost has permission to be baptized. Her father was telling her that she has to wait a really long time to be baptized but now hes thinking about giving her permission. Her father also started reading the book of mormon which is really good and started to cry when he read it. He is starting to change a lot. I hope that we will be able to help all of her family and not only dayana. We also had a family night with them from about how families can be together forever and he was a really good lesson.

We also had a really good visit with our branch president. He gave us a lot of names of less actives that arent on out list. We are going to try and contact all of those this week.

Also yesterday was elections, so we werent allowed to leave and they didnt have church. So out of all the days this week, we worked 3 days in our area.

That was about all that happened this week but we are going to start working really hard as new comps. Hes a really good guy and Im really looking forward to this new cambio. Im not sure what that mission term is in english.

Elder Britt

Im going to try and explain some of the photos.

Some members gave us some honey comb which was really good. At first I thought it was just a moldy brownie.

My comp did that thing that I was doing on the rings so the family was like you have to do it too. So I did it and took a photo!

the next one is a salteña. They are really good. They are full of juice and meat.

The next is the elder that I had an intercambio with for a few days, Elder Flores.

The other are families in the ward, the family montenegro and durán.

The next is a cool statue i found.

The invitation was one that is really funny. We went to go print photos and on the window they had a ton of examples of things that they can do. I was like wait, thats the temple from utah. I think they jsut went onto the internet and found that. I thought it was really funny.

The next is an activity that we had that was really fun.

The next was this morning when we were leaving!

Lots of photos this week!

This week was really good. The time is going so fast for me.

This week we had an activity of the branch. We had a talent show. It was really fun. Some youth showed some of their karate skills and other youth sang. A member wanted us to do something so my comp and I did something small. He played the charango and I sung something. It was really bad but I think the members liked it, mainly because it was really funny. A new family that we found went to the talent show. I think they liked it a lot.

But like I said we found a new family this week. We had 2 lessons with them and things are going well with them. The biggest doubt that the father has is about the restoration. He doesnt like that it took almost 2000 years for the church to be restored. He has a loooot of question. I tried to answer most of his questions but just ended up teaching him moroni 10 and that the best thing to do is ask God.

Also we found our other investigator this week. Her mom has been really sick this week so she has been practically living in the hospital for the past week and a half. She didnt have time to have a lesson but we should have a lesson with her tomorrow

Thats about all that happened this week!

E´Britt

Also this week I was able to go back to my old area. Carmen 3 and visit with the family guzman. I love that family so much. We ate a lot of food with them. It was a really good visit.

Mar 16th, Hospital!

This week we spent a lot of time in the hospital. Monday we went to the house to drop some things off to go and eat lunch. When we were leaving, my comp was shutting our glass door. He was shutting it really slowly and it just exploded. It cut his arm pretty badly and we went to the hospital really quickly. Luckily, there is a clinic in the corner of our house that we went to. He got 4 stitches in his arm and we are going to go back today to get them taken out. We also went to the hospital for my arm. Thing have gotten a lot better with my arm. All the worms have died, which is good.

This week we also had a multi zone conference. It was really cool. It was about how we can develop gifts of the spirit, mainly the gift of tongues. They also told us that a 70 was going to come to the mission so im really excited for that.

We are also working a lot with a member, Hermano Domingo, to go on all of our visits with our investigators. Thanks to him we could have a lot of lessons this week and help a lot of our investigatores. We also had a really good investigator but she just disappeared one day. Her family told us that she was going to the fields to work but she has returned yet. We were going to put a date for her baptism but because she has been gone we couldnt. We also have another baptism planned in 2 weeks for 2 kid, alex and luis. We have been really busy this week.

Thats about all that happened this week, love you guys.

Elder Britt

Also where we eat lunch found a turtle. she told us that we were going to eat turtle soup. I think she was serious. Also I tried picking up the parrot and it bit me. I just wanted to hold it.

This week was really good!

We have seen a lot of progress in El Torno in just 3 weeks. Now that there are 4 Elder in el torno. Yesterday 75 members went to church. Before it was only about 30 or 40. Hopefully we can keep this area progressing.

We had a lot of family home evening with members this week. We are trying really hard to get permission from the father of one of our investigators. What we are trying to do is help her share stuff, such as scriptures or her desires to be baptized, wiht her father and hopefully with that he will let her get baptized. He doesnt really want to talk to us. He told her that he doesnt want her to get baptized because he hasnt seen a big change in her and because of that he doesnt want her to get baptized.

We also have another really good investigator that we started teaching last week. She lives really far from the chapel so we ride a moto taxi to her house and then let her use the same moto taxi to go to the church. She told us that she really likes the church and likes listening to use. We invited her to be baptized and she told us that she would think about it. We visited her Friday night and asked her to pray about it. She said she would and we are going to see how her prayer went tonight.

Also yesterday we were meeting with 2 kids trying to teach them about faith. My comp tried to use an example about how when you go to the fridge, you hope that youre going to find food and how its the same with faith, or something like that, I dont really understand what he was trying to say. But then I asked one of the kids, what is faith. He told us, well, faith is when Im hungry and go to the fridge to get food and if there is no food, my mom will make me something. It was really funny. We died laughing in the lesson.

Thats about all that happened this week.

Love you all,
Elder Britt

Also this week I went to the hospital because I had a weird rash thing on my arm. When the doctor looked at it he told other doctors to come and look at it. I could hear them saying, oh I havent seen that in a long time, thats really weird. They told me that I had worms growing in my arm. The good thing is I only have to use a cream and they will go away. So thats exciting!

Mar 2nd, No Subject

The time out here is going sooo fast. I feel like I was just writing yesterday.

This week was really good. We had 5 investigatores that went to church yesterday. All of them had a really good experiences. A lot of them were people that we didnt visit that week, they just went to church because they wanted to, which is really good.

This week we found a new investigator. She lives in the corner of our house. She had a lot of questions for us and is really interested in the church. We have talked to her a lot but have never thought to share the gospel with her. She has a lot of potential.

This week we are going to dedicate 2-3 hours every day to contact. I hope we can get some new investigatores from that because this area doesnt have that much.

Elder Britt

Last week we didnt have an activity so the my comp and the other Elder of El Torno went and explored a mountain. We could see all of el torno, it was really cool
